Earth Day, Every Day

We only need turn on the news to hear about floods, droughts, wildfires, or melting ice in Greenland to understand that our planet faces an array of serious environmental challenges. Earth Day serves as a yearly reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting the Earth's natural resources. Observed annually on April 22nd, Earth Day is a global event that brings people together from all walks of life to celebrate our planet, raise awareness about the critical environmental issues we face, and help us come together to develop and implement solutions.

In recognition of the global challenges we all face with our natural environment, Earth Day is growing to Earth week, and hopefully soon to very day….

Caring for our world is crucial. From smaller and personal things we can do such as vermiculture, composting, organic backyard farming, and adding solar panels, to larger community, city, state, or federal efforts we all must do our part to reduce our environmental footprint and make positive environmental impacts today and tomorrow.

Mitigating Climate Change

World Resources Institute (WRI) recently sent out a weekly digest highlighting climate issues around the globe. To help frame and emphasize their objectives, they employed the use of infographics, such as the one below. The simplicity and directness of the icons give this design a strong foundation and aid in uptake and consideration of their messages — a leading practice. You can read the entire digest here to gain some great insights and also to consider how your organization could benefit from the use of infographics in your media.
