Health Unscripted

Health Unscripted: a 24-page plus cover saddle stitch brochure mixes glama natural (a semi-transparent sheet that is reminiscent of skin) for bold text with a coated silk sheet for striking photographs. This piece engages the senses (especially those of touch and sight) and captivates the viewer as the glama partially reveals and conceals with moving captions and lyrical text placement to activate the deeply poignant images by photographers as well as survivor and caregiver duo, Anna and Jordan Rathkopf.

Fun Fold for Democracy NC

Born and bred in the Piedmont of North Carolina, I jumped on the opportunity to work with Democracy NC. Their important mission: To strengthen democratic structures, build power among disenfranchised communities, and inspire confidence in a transformed political process that works for all.

To keep the brochure cost-effective, we worked with a local Durham printer to cut the paper at an angle to make the brochure more interesting and engaging and continued the diagonal motif within the design.

Recovering Voices

What a treat to work with Recovering Voices, a part of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Studio Red Design partnered with writer/friend Karen Rachel Brody to create the words and layout of this 8-panel closed gate brochure. Based on the available photos and decided language, realized that laying this out as a closed gate was the best way to present the information.
